Bioprocess Division is a business unit of Asahi Kasei Medical Co., Ltd., a world leader in membrane and fiber technology for bioprocess consumables and their related equipment.

In 1989, through continued development of its membrane and fiber technology,  Asahi Kasei launched the world’s first filter designed specifically for virus removal for biotherapeutics, such as biopharmaceuticals and plasma-derived drug products. Since then, Planova filters have received global acclaim for their superior performance in virus removal.
